The Civil Society Alliance (CSA)

What makes for a healthy civil society?

In the face of disputes in matters of public policy, how do we conduct ourselves?

There are two ethics we believe are central:

1. The love of hard questions.

Honest participants in public policy debate are eager to be openly accountable to the most competent and passionate questions from those who hold different positions.

2. A level playing field.

Honest participants in public policy debate do not desire one inch greater liberty to speak their views, than the liberty they first commend to those who disagree with them.

Do you agree with these ethics, regardless of your political philosophy or positions? If so, we invite you to join The Civil Society Alliance, and return this form to the TEI. The CSA is simply an alliance seeking to compile a list of those who agree with such a foundation, to be used in matters of sponsoring public policy dialogues and debates.

Or, if you have any reservations, do you know of a better set of ethics? If so, please itemize for us what those ethics are below, and return this form to the TEI.
